C is for the crazy things that happened to us this year. On the first day of the year, we couldn't leave our house because police had blocked our complex due to flooding on the road.  We were stuck for an entire day. It was a good excuse not to go to work!

H is for another Howard who joined the family. Jordan Nairn-Howard was born May 18, weighing 7 lb, 1 oz. She has her brother's auburn hair, but has even fairer skin. Can you say "Irish ancestry?"

R is for rest, relaxation and recreation. Well, we didn't really get THAT much rest after Jordan was born, but I did take three months off after her birth, and that's the longest summer break I can remember for a long, long time. I'd love to do it every year!

I is for instant fame. Well, not quite instant and not quite fame, but Lisa's Christmas site, christmaslettertips.com, was featured in Woman's Day this year and a number of newspapers who called asking for her "expert" advice on writing Christmas letters. Who knew I was an expert?

S is for Chase's first year of school. He started kindergarten this year with a wonderful teacher by the name of Pam Fisher. He enjoys going and Cayne enjoys volunteering in the class one day every week. And Jordan has become the unofficial class mascot, as she hangs out with the big kids every Thursday when Cayne volunteers.

T is for trips. This year we went to Las Vegas and Santa Barbara, compliments of Lisa's company, who paid for her to attend conventions in those cities. Chase loved Vegas and is ready to go again. He said it was better than Disneyland. But not to leave the Big D out, we made a trek there this summer.

M is for more energy than we know what to do with! I'd like to say that's for me and Cayne, but actually Chase is the one with excess energy. So he enrolled in gymnastics this year, and is loving every flip, tumble, and jump. Have you ever seen a six-year-old with muscles??

A is for more.

S is for super things to come in the new year. Not sure where we're heading, but we'll probably be making a move out of Pittsburg this year. The neighborhood we're in isn't very good and we want to find a good school district for the kids, so look for a new address from us in the coming year.
